Thank you for supporting the UAF College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences during our first UA Giving Day 2020! You can still make a gift to support SFOS by visiting: engage.alaska.edu
Headquartered in Fairbanks, UAF’s College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences is a regional and world-class research and academic hub with major centers, laboratories, and institutes located throughout the state. We have the national responsibility of operating the Global Class ice-capable research vessel Sikuliaq, which is homeported in Seward.
Our students are actively engaged in the most pressing issues in fisheries, marine biology and oceanography. Their research helps Alaskans understand the varied and changing marine and freshwater ecosystems and coastal resources on which so many depend.
We emphasize the importance of learning not only in the classroom, but also through hands-on experiences: internships, research in the lab and out in the field, and the opportunity to work directly with fisheries and marine sciences professionals in different communities across Alaska.
Now, more than ever, your gift makes a difference with funding to areas that are vital to student success, such as:
Together, our commitment as Nanook Nation helps students learn and conduct research in some of the most beautiful and pristine locations in the world. Your gift, regardless of size, makes a great impact. By making a gift today, you are renewing your dedication to our CFOS community, and encouraging CFOS students to achieve their potential to become our future leaders in fisheries and marine science.
