Thank you for supporting UAF Education Outreach during our first UA Giving Day 2020! You can still make a gift to support UAF by visiting: engage.alaska.edu/uaf
Since our beginnings over 100 years ago, UAF has been a integral part of the community we serve. Alaskans come to us for community events, radio programming, gardening advice, museum exhibits, and historical information. We are proud to be a part of our community and a resource for Alaskans! You can support some of our community programs by clicking the button below.
UA Museum of the North:
The University of Alaska Museum of the North is a thriving visitor attraction, a vital component of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the only research and teaching museum in Alaska. Your gift will support program, research and facilities at the UA Museum of the North.
Charles C. Georgeson Botanical Garden:
The Georgeson Botanical Garden (GBG) is a nationally recognized botanical garden and a member of a network of educational and research institutions dedicated to plant culture and conservation. It is located at the Fairbanks Experiment Farm and is part of the School of Natural Resources and Extension at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Your gift will support program, research and facilities at the Garden.
Cooperative Extension:
UAF's public service and community engagement role is filled in part by Extension educators, faculty and staff located across the state. Extension offers hundreds of publications, written and produced by university specialists, which contain practical information of interest to Alaska residents. Major program areas include: agriculture and horticulture; health, home and family development; natural resources and community development; 4-H and youth development. Your gift will support programs, staff and facilities at the Cooperative Extension.
KUAC:
KUAC-FM and KUAC-TV were the first public radio and television stations in the 49th state. They were established so that Alaskans would have access to the same opportunities as other Americans. Connecting Alaska to the world was a challenge for broadcasters in those days. Over the last decades, much has changed. However, the core purpose remains the same: Improving lives through broadcasting. Your gift will provide general support for KUAC operations.
Rasmuson Library:
Containing more than 1.2 million items, this is the largest library in Alaska. The library has one of the world's finest collections of Alaska and Polar Regions materials including books, periodicals, photography, manuscripts, films, oral histories, rare books and maps. Your gift will support programs and facilities at the Library.
